The Mom and the author——

I am the Giggle hut mom and author of this blog. I was born and raised in San Francisco and in the Central valley of California. I went to college for 4 years at Spartan College of Aeronautics in Oklahoma. Now residing in San Antonio, TX, with Jonathan (the Hulk) and Joshua (Capt’n America). Who would I be? Definitely the Hulk buster.
Who am I really? I’ve been a single mom for 15 years raising kids who are now teenagers and figuring out the whirlwind of raising a son with DMD. After some years of falling away, and rebellion, my faith and heart was finally arrested and resides in Jesus. I’m now enroute to self-discovery, serving others, and learning along the way. In 2019, I finally obtained my Bachelor of Arts in Biblical studies and now living life and walking what God has planned.
My hope for our website is to be open and candid about my journey as a woman of faith; a single parent, a single parent raising a child with Muscular dystrophy, and as of 2024 a newly married women with a wonderful husband who learns to become a parent. This will be one heck of a journey as of yet.

What’s the Giggle hut?
It’s our HOME! When the boys were little, they loved building forts out of anything they could find; chairs, tables, pillows, ottomans, boxes, and anything that could prop up a blanket. I would often see them dragging toys in it, stuffed animals, books, our dog Canela, capri suns, bags of chips, and attempt to push things in that clearly would NOT fit. They would sit in there long enough to where they got warm and sweaty, why not bring a bag of chips?! Lol. While in their forts, I would hear bickering on occasion, but most of the time, I heard hysterics, goofing off, laughing and a ton of giggling. Eventually they came to calling their fort, the Giggle Hut.
