MDA Camp

Every year the MDA holds a week long camp specific for kiddos with all variations of muscular dystrophy; focusing on inclusivity and accessibility for activities that go beyond the everyday. Jonathan had access to fishing, canoeing/kayaking, ziplining, rock- climbing, horseback riding, swimming, obstacle courses, and so much more that were converted to handicap accessible activities! The generous people and organizations who give to the MDA not only provide for research but also for these type of camps that staff doctors, nurses, physical therapists and other necessary medical workers for the week.

The MDA has not been able to do this since before COVID, so I was excited to get Jonathan back into the swing of things once they started back up. Jonathan comes back with a sense of confidence, independence and empowerment knowing that he is not alone in his disability. This in itself is worth the long drive.
